About us

Biorig is the renewable gases division of Solarig. It was created with the aim of providing innovative solutions in the area of renewable gases, such as biomethane and biogenic CO₂.

Circular economy and sustainability

Committed to our environment

We provide solutions for the correct management of agricultural and livestock waste in rural environments by using exclusively slurry, straw and manure in the production process.

Generation of renewable gases
Valorisation of agricultural and livestock waste
Fertiliser production
Zero water consumption
Circular economy model
Environment free of emissions and discharges
Committed to the local economy
Collaboration and transparency
From livestock waste to green energy

Our activity

We recover agricultural and livestock waste
01 We recover agricultural and livestock waste We reach agreements with local farmers and livestock breeders who produce our agricultural and livestock raw materials (slurry, straw or manure).
We produce renewable gases
02 We produce renewable gases Anaerobic digestion (without oxygen) and an upgrading process (put upgrading in italics) in our plants produce biomethane and biogenic CO2.
We capture biogenic CO₂
03 We capture biogenic CO₂ We will capture more than 300,000 tonnes of biogenic CO₂, responsible for 12% of global CO₂ emissions in Spain.
We produce certified fertilisers
04 We produce certified fertilisers After sanitising and treating the digestate, a by-product of our plants, we obtain a CFP 3 organic fertiliser certified by the European Union.
Green energy with positive impact

Benefits of Biomethane

Biomethane is a renewable gas that is produced from biogas through a purification or upgrading process. This technology is a sustainable energy solution with more than 40 years of development in Europe.

Direct injection into the grid

One of the main benefits of the biomethane we produce is that, in addition to having a negative carbon footprint, it has a composition that is virtually identical to natural gas of fossil origin. This reduces dependence on new infrastructure, as the molecules can be transported through the existing gas grid.

Sectors

Biomethane has multiple uses in different sectors. This ranges from its use for heating homes to its use as a fuel in activities with consumption that is difficult to electrify, such as heavy transport or large industry.

Rural employment

We establish our tax headquarters in the municipalities where we operate, contributing with the payment of taxes to the localities where we are located. In addition, we are committed to training the residents of these rural areas to form part of the workforce of the plants, which contributes to boosting the local economy, generating new opportunities and fixing the population in areas at risk of depopulation.

Circular economy

We collaborate to establish a circular economy model in the rural areas where we operate. We help in the correct collection of waste, we generate a renewable gas and we return to the crops an organic fertiliser amendment approved by the EU, which is a real alternative for crop fertiliser.
